Work has recently commenced at St Mary's Mansions, Sean Mc Dermott St Lower, Dublin

The scheme has been designed by COADY Architects, for Cluid Housing Association, to transform a 1940’s housing unit, by providing larger, modern apartments to current standards. With the addition of two new stories, and a full refurbishment of the existing retained structure, it will accommodate 80 apartment units over six floors, overlooking the newly landscaped public space at Gloucester Diamond, and into a secure internal courtyard and play space for the residents use.
While working within the constraints of the existing structure and window configuration, a mannered and contextual elevation composed of brick and render has been achieved to transform the building, and be a positive contribution to its urban context and local community.
