NUIG Student Accommodation Phase 2 Planning Granted

Planning granted for new 674 bed space Student Accommodation development on the National University of Ireland Galway campus
COADY Architects are delighted to announce that planning permission has been granted by An Bord Pleanala for Phase 2 of a major new student accommodation development at the NUIG Galway Campus. The proposed development has been designed by the partnership of COADY Architects / FCBStudios and provides for the creation of a high-quality student accommodation and ancillary accommodation to serve the existing and future needs of the university population.
The proposed scheme will include 125 apartments with 674 bed spaces, together with all ancillary facilities, arranged in 4 no. blocks with Block A ranging from 4 to 8 storeys, Block B and D extend to 6 storeys and Block C comprises 4 storeys.
This project follows on from the recently completed Goldchrest student accommodation project (Phase 1) at the same location, which provided 429 bed spaces and was successfully delivered by the COADY led design team in August 2018.
