COADY SPEAK AT BISNOW’S ‘AEROTROPOLIS & BEYOND’

Tomas Sexton of COADY Architects joined the panel to discuss ‘Aerotropolis & Beyond’ at the BISNOW event, on 1st October 2019.

This event took place at the fantastic Dublin Airport Central development, giving a first glimpse of the exciting new business campus at DAC.

COADY are delivering phase 1 of the development, approximately 20,000 sq m in two 6 storey blocks, as part of the STEWART Construction team, which is nearing completion directly opposite Terminal 2. The new office buildings provide Grade A, LEED Gold, BER A3 rated flexible office spaces. Kelloggs has taken a number of floors of one of the blocks and generously provided breakfast delights for the event.

It was a lively discussion with some differing views. There was consensus amongst the panels that new work environments need to be customer focused in a competitive market for talent. The panellists identified some key issues: agile working, integrated developments with accessible and affordable residential, improved transportation links, reduction of car dependency, consolidation of our urban environment with greater density and improvement of public realm, park amenities and cultural / leisure facilities to make our cites more desirable working, living and connected environments.
