Blackrock College Masterplan
The masterplan provided a framework for the transformation of Blackrock College and Willow Park into modern progressive schools, with the best possible facilities, adding to the historical and architectural heritage of the campus which stretches back 300 years. The campus encloses 47 acres and has disparate building complexes housing Blackrock College (Senior School), Willow Park (Junior School), Williamstown Castle (Boarding Accommodation), Clareville (Father’s Accommodation), and various outhouses and sports facilities. Williamstown Castle and Castledawson House are protected structures. The two schools which together cater for 1,900 pupils have been redeveloped by Coady Architects in line with the masterplan on the footprints of the existing buildings, with shared sports facilities located centrally.
