Brambledown Residential Development, Carrickmines

This development at Brambledown in Carrickmines includes 11 new 4-bedroom houses, 3 detached and 8 semi-detached, arranged on the site in an L shaped configuration to achieve optimum orientation. All houses have rear gardens facing south or west. The designs provide generously sized family homes with large lining rooms including feature bay windows to the front and generous kitchen-dining rooms to the rear. The elevation treatment incorporates render, stone, zinc and timber cladding articulated in a contemporary language. All materials were selected for their low maintenance characteristics and are compatible with the local palette of materials and colours. Roofs are in black fibre cement slates in keeping with the local vernacular. On arrival the shared green open park area provides a welcoming approach. Existing tress were carefully protected and integrated into the landscape design which extends throughout the scheme to include the front gardens. Coady Architects were responsible for the design from initial concept through planning permission to completion on site.
