Letterkenny Institute of Technology Masterplan, Expansion and Review
The master plan provides for 30,000m2 of accommodation to cater for 3,000 students. The vision for the Institute is of distinct academic departments linked by light filled concourses, stretching across the campus, facing to sunlit, landscaped courts with views to nearby mountains. The academic accommodation serves a wide variety of courses including science, business, engineering, nursing, hospitality and tourism. The plan also includes a Business Incubation Centre, a Multipurpose Sports Centre and social facilities together with a comprehensive landscape design. In the period 1998-2014 CPA have substantially realised the buildings envisaged in this master-plan for LYIT. The continued growth and expansion of the Institute has led to the purchase of additional lands following feasibility studies undertaken by Coady Architects. The master planning of these lands is on-going by the practice.
