Social Housing, Portmarnock
The 26 own-door apartments and duplexes are arranged in six pavilions planned around a central courtyard. Each unit enjoys a private ground floor garden. Pedestrian priority sets the approach to the landscape and traffic treatment of the scheme where car speeds are reduced to a minimum. Designed in compliance with ‘House of Tomorrow’ standards the dwellings have high levels of airtightness and insulation. Each has solar panels to pre-heat domestic hot water.
