Primary Care Centre, Tuam
This new 2,500sqm Primary Healthcare facility, located on a greenfield site on lands at the former Old Grove hospital, Sean Purcell Road, provides a one-stop-shop comprising of six GP suites, four dental surgeries, Public Health Nursing consulting rooms, Children & Family services, physiotherapy and administrative offices. The project was delivered as part of a 14 project PPP programme for the NDFA and HSE.
The two storey civic building, is set within a site adjacent the main hospital campus and has been designed to provide frontage addressing the main road and also an adjacent site for future development as part of a healthcare ‘campus’. The scheme provides car parking for 66 cars (based on 33 consulting rooms), located to the front of the building and a number to the rear, and caters for 30% expansion within the site. The building has been designed to achieve an A3 BER Energy Rating and is fully accessible to all.
COADY Architects were appointed by the HSE to achieve planning permission, DAC and prepare tender drawings, and the project was then tendered by the NDFA through the PPP model. COADY Architects were part of the winning bid team and took the project through construction to completion in October 2017.
